About Us

Here at Wyoming Saddle Company we know how important it is to have a quality saddle for both the rider and the horse. We believe the foundation of a saddle is where it starts, it’s the tree in which everything is built upon. We use top quality, custom, hand-made saddle trees made of wood (this allows flexibility) and covered with bullhide (the strongest of rawhide). The leather we use is from the highest quality U.S bred cattle, tanned right here in the U.S. 

We know that your horse is a valuable investment, and for many, their work partner and best friend! So remember, whether you’re a trail rider, competitor or ranch hand, a well-made saddle will go a long way in the relationship between you and your horse. How it all started...

Mike has been in the horse and saddle industry for 35 plus years. His love and passion for horses is where it began. He started out training horses and selling manufactured saddles. Working and training many different types of horses gave him the understanding of the different behaviors a horse may exhibit when wearing a bad fitting saddle. Through the years of selling saddles Mike's knowledge of a good quality saddle sparked the desire to learn western saddle building. Mike studied in Montana and from there began his own saddle business, Wyoming Saddle Company. 

He also became a certified equine massage therapist from Equissage in Round Hill Virginia, who are the originators of the equine massage programs. This gave him an even higher level of education on how certain types of trees as well as treeless saddles and a poor fit effects a horses "PERFORMANCE AND ATTITUDE". Many horses are sent down the road because of poor behavior and attitude because they are in pain due to a poor fitting saddle.
